Dunglass is easily found just five minute's drive from the A1 at the roundabout by Cockburnspath. From here please follow signs for the Collegiate Church where there is ample parking available.

We are a ten minute drive from Dunbar which has a main line train station between London and Edinburgh. There are many appealing shops, cafes and places to eat with accommodation to suit all budgets. North Berwick and Haddington are only twenty minutes drive which also offer a variety of luxury Hotels and restaurants, interesting shops and much more. We also have a host of alternative accommodation options in the area including cottages, caravan parks, B & B's and country hotels.

Transport to Dunglass from any location can be easily found and we would be happy to recommend a list of these options should you require. If you prefer to travel from Edinburgh then we are only forty minutes by car and twenty minutes to Dunbar Station.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much deposit for our wedding do we have to pay now upon booking?
We ask for a 50% payment of the venue hire fee. A detail of this will be provided for you before you book.

How can we pay and who do we make payment to?
We accept cheques payable to “Dunglass Estate Events”.

When do we pay you the entire balance for our event?
We ask that full payment due to Dunglass Estate for the services we provide is settled no later than eight weeks prior to your event.

What If we decide to cancel our booking?
We will retain any deposit eight weeks before your confirmed date and we will charge the full amount after eight weeks before your confirmed date.

Can we reserve a date before deciding to book?
We can try to hold dates for you prior to booking however this will be up to our discretion and the demand for that date. We will advise you if your date is requested by someone else and offer you first refusal at that time.

Can we use our own caterer?
Yes you can use your own caterer however you must ensure that they comply with all health and safety regulations or legal requirements to operate.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
You must discuss with your preferred caterer your exact dietary requirements.

Can we use our own suppliers?
Yes you can use your own suppliers and you must satisfy yourself that they are operating with the relevant licenses in place and that you are happy with their service.

Can we supply our own alcohol?
Yes you can supply your own alcohol however if it is for your entire event then you must not employ someone to distribute it or charge money for it without an appropriate licence with East Lothian Council.

Do you charge Corkage?
At the moment we do not charge corkage.

Can you run a cash bar and will it be expensive?
Yes we can and we can run a paying bar and no we do not inflate our bar prices. Our prices are in line with local public house rates.

Can we book a taxi at the end of the night to get us home?
We provide details for local taxi hire companies based in Dunbar on our website and at the bar within our marquee. You are advised to pre book a taxi for your convenience.

How much does a taxi cost?
We do not give exact quotes on behalf of our local taxi hire companies but we have checked with them and they have indicated an estimated cost of around £20.00 for pick up from Dunglass and drop off in Dunbar, Innerwick, Cockburnspath and local surrounding areas. We do advise that you check and confirm the price upon pre booking.

Where is your car parking?
We provide car parking on our main lawn. We might advise alternative car parking on our grounds in poor weather conditions however this will be a last minute decision and staff will be on hand to direct you.

Do you have accommodation on site?
We offer Dunglass House which can be seen on our website. At the moment we do not have additional accommodation available and you will need to arrange transport to and from our location.

Can we camp on the grounds?
Unfortunately we do not offer camping at this time.

Do we have to book all of your package deal or facilities?
We can tailor your event to your requirements and our rates will reflect this.

Can we book a different style tent such as a Tipi Tent?
Yes you can book an alternative tent and our rates for venue hire are mentioned on our weddings prices page if you decide to do this.

Where can we set up alternative tents?
We will show you around alternative areas such as our main lawn for your consideration.

Will your onsite marquee still be in place?
We are unable to take down our marquee and instead we can make this available to you as an additional space charged at an hourly rate if required.

Do you supply additional power and water for events on other parts of your grounds?
We can arrange for additional power and water for your event however this will be subject to additional charges which we can discuss with you.

What happens if it rains in the church?
We cannot help if bad weather prevails and we advise clients to take out appropriate insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. Usually the church is water tight however depending on wind directions this could mean that inside the church becomes wet.
